Abstract

Personalized medicine tailors treatments to individual characteristics. This is typically done with genetic information but includes other factors such as environment, age, lifestyle, and concomitant medications. An important goal in developing individual patient treatment strategies is to maximize efficacy and minimize adverse effects.
