Abstract

U.S. manufacturers are rethinking their sourcing decisions in the wake of significant disruptions to global supply chains and the realization that having everything sourced from faraway places may not be such a good idea. Policy initiatives from federal and state governments, such as the CHIPS act and a new Michigan initiative, are underway to at least partially bring offshored industries back home.
