Abstract

Patient data privacy is an important issue within the medical field, as it deals with the highly sensitive topic of individual health. Making these records available to people without proper authorization can result in serious detrimental effects for the patient, including stigmatization, discrimination in employment and healthcare provision, as well as social isolation.
