Abstract

The impact of drug quality on the safety and effectiveness of pharmaceuticals is universally recognized. This creates significant pressure to implement more effective and efficient quality control methodologies within the pharmaceutical industry. Manufacturing processes used to produce pharmaceuticals are becoming increasingly complex and pose many challenges when it comes to assuring product quality. Such complexity demands a new approach to process monitoring, one that can work in real-time.
